These are the policies that Solar Nation works to implement in America.
These are the policies that can help make America a truly Solar Nation.

1. Meaningful financial support, to continue to build America’s solar industry and bring down costs. This support could include tax credits, better financing terms and, where needed, a renewable portfolio standard with special recognition of the unique values of solar photovoltaic systems and solar thermal systems.

2. Standardized interconnection procedures for solar electricity that are open and fair, to prevent solar projects from being blocked before they get the chance to deliver clean, secure, sustainable energy.

3. Net metering arrangements that fairly credit solar power system owners for all the energy they generate and deliver to the grid.

4. Fair rate design, including time-of-use tariffs with low fixed charges, which equitably rewards solar power system owners for the value of the energy they generate.

5. Removal of restrictive development covenants that prevent solar thermal and photovoltaic systems from being installed on our homes.

6. Energy Star recognition of solar water heating appliances.
